It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.<br /><br />Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item, but they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will cost 105.<br /><br />Valorstones<br /><br />Upgrades are items that can be used for weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from item upgraders NPCs for a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. The button will display the item's next upgrade level, when there are enough materials.<br /><br />The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and the current level of the item, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currency types.<br /><br />A lot of locations offer upgraders for items, including the main Island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of getting a new recipe. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest ilvl possible for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.<br /><br /><br /><br />It's also important to use crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. It is best to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the best gear that you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, that will be able to benefit from the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are filled with high-quality equipment.<br /><br />
